Q. How old do I need to be in order to take lessons?
A. 10 years old and up is the most common age, although it is possible to start at 8 and up.
Q. I'm a parent and I enjoy getting involved with my child and music too, what can I do?
A. I welcome and encourage parents to sit in on lessons, especially with younger children, 8-12 years old. But it is not mandatory.
Q. What do I need to get started with lessons?
A. All you need is a drum pad, pair of sticks and a writing book.
Q. How much practice does it require?
A. I recommend practicing 15 minutes or more at least 5 days a week. The more you practice the better you get!
Q. My son/daughter is in school band, but I'm thinking about furthering their skills with private lessons. What are the advantages?
A. When a child gets private, individual instruction, they increase their skills dramatically because the teacher can easily identify the students strengths and weaknesses many times overlooked in group instruction.
A. How do I know I'm going to like drum lessons?
A. No problem, THE FIRST LESSON IS ALWAYS FREE!
